History... The Sturgis Chamber of Commerce is very proud to house the Antique Mall. The name, 'Ole Pants Factory, is in honor of the Sturgis Clothing Company that occupied the building from 1946-1997. During this time, one of our Nation's largest men's clothing manufacturer, Richman Bros. Co. operated the plant, followed by FW Woolsworth Co. and later JOS Pietrafeasa Co. The high quality men's clothing was distributed through Richman Bros. Stores and other such as Brooks Bros., Polo and Eddie Bauer. The plant was the city's largest industry and employed 220 people. Prior to the clothing business, this building had some interesting tenants. Besides being used as a garage, it also received parts, shipped by rail, that were assembled into Model T Fords. During WWII, the men and women of the 83rd Division, located at Camp Breckenridge in Morganfield, and the 101st Airborne Division enjoyed this facility as a USO Center. Currently, besides the Antique Mall, it houses the Chamber of Commerce and the Little Sturgis Rally offices. Come and stroll through
our local history as you shop for treasures from our past.
